Cookie Policy
KAKI.MU uses cookies and similar technologies (local storage, session storage, device identifiers) to make the marketplace work, to keep your account safe and — with your consent — to understand how the Platform is used and to show you relevant offers. This page explains what we set, why, and how you can change your choice at any time.
1. The three categories
Functional (always on). These cookies are strictly necessary for KAKI.MU to work: signing you in, keeping your cart, checkout, escrow and fraud-prevention signals, remembering your delivery location, and storing your cookie choice itself (kaki.cookie-consent.v1). You cannot disable these because the site would not function without them.
Analytics (optional). These help us count visits, see which pages perform, and diagnose errors. We currently use Sentry for crash reporting and plan to use PostHog for product analytics. Analytics cookies only fire if you allow them.
Marketing (optional). Used to measure the effect of our campaigns and, where you have opted in, to show KAKI.MU offers on third-party sites. Off by default.
2. How to manage your choice
You set your preferences in the cookie banner that appears the first time you visit. You can re-open the preferences panel at any time by clearing the kaki.cookie-consent.v1entry from your browser’s site storage, or by using the in-banner Preferences button. Most browsers also let you block or delete cookies — be aware that disabling functional cookies will break sign-in and checkout.
3. Third-party cookies
When you pay, your card details are handled by our payment processor (Stripe today; MIPS and MCB Juice in future) which may set its own cookies for fraud prevention. Embedded media (e.g. YouTube previews on a Seller’s page) may also set third-party cookies governed by the providers’ own policies.
4. Changes
We may update this Cookie Policy as we add or remove tools. The “Last updated” date below shows when it last changed. If we add new categories, we will ask for your consent again.
